Find Your Anchor

2024 Suicide Prevention & Awareness Community Campaign

The Prevention Team is expanding its reach into the community by introducing the "Find Your Anchor" initiative, a growing movement across the nation. Using small boxes filled with hope-inspiring items, we aim to foster connections and create a network of stability for individuals facing isolation or hardship. Our goal is to distribute these boxes to schools, families, and businesses, supporting the power of connection within each community.

The "Find Your Anchor" initiative recognizes that each person needs a dependable base to cling to in the face of adversity. While it doesn't claim to be that anchor or possess all the solutions, it seeks to cultivate a community of anchors, passing along hope from one human being to another. The contents of the little blue box symbolizes reminders of why life matters and why you matter.

Launching in 2024 with support from the Essex County Community Services Board, led by Ms. Terrie Morse (LGU), this initiative utilizes funds from the Opioid Settlement to aid schools, businesses, veterans, and community members.
